#1 Mental.Reset.

Roots, rocks, and uneven ground are not merely obstacles; they are the very elements that compel you to concentrate fully on your surroundings. Each step becomes a deliberate act of awareness, as you navigate through the natural landscape, ensuring that you maintain your balance and avoid tripping. In this rugged terrain, your mind is drawn away from the incessant chatter of daily life, allowing you to experience a rare moment of clarity.

Nature has a unique ability to restore our sense of self, allowing us to reconnect with our thoughts and emotions in a way that is often lost in the hustle of daily life. So, take the time to step outside, embrace the uneven ground, and let the natural world envelop you. It’s in these instances that you truly discover the richness of life, the beauty of your surroundings, and the peace that comes from being fully present.

#2 Carving out true ALONE time

It’s the only time no one needs anything from you, you might not even see another soul!

No snacks. No wipes. Just you, the dirt and your own breath. In this moment, stripped of all distractions and the usual comforts we often rely on, you find yourself immersed in a raw and unfiltered experience.

#3 Decompress.

Prepare for your patience to be reset.

You’ll be ready to tackle the dinner, bath, bed routine. You come back calmer, clearer and way less likely to snap over the little things. The tasks that seem like climbing a mountain, suddenly seem manageable as you've had time to sort through the day's emotions, you'll be ready to tackle your little ones emotions as they need you!

#4 Forget the Pace.

Road running makes you obsess over pace. Trail running doesn’t care.

On the trails, it’s all about conserving energy, walking when you need to, and keeping your joints happy. Let go of the asphalt pressure — the dirt has different rules.

#5 Lead by example.

Let your children see you choosing health, grit and time for yourself. They are little sponges after all!

Then watch them follow in your footsteps, mirroring your actions and decisions as they absorb the lessons you impart. This phenomenon often occurs in various aspects of life, whether in a professional setting, within a family dynamic, or among friends. As you navigate your path, the way you handle challenges, the values you uphold, and the goals you pursue can significantly influence those around you. Your determination to succeed, your resilience in the face of adversity, and your ability to maintain integrity serve as a powerful example for others. As your kids observe your journey, they may begin to adopt similar behaviors, inspired by your tenacity and approach to life.

#6 Wrangle back you time.

If you’re in the thick of early parenthood, you can feel a bit lost. Finding time to commit to team sports can feel like more pressure!

Trail running fits into the scraps of time you do have - 20 or 30 minutes and you’re golden.

Once you’re into it, it’s easy to find local trail groups when you’re ready for company again.

#7 It's always a Win!

Your day is busy anyway. The house won’t be perfect anyway. You’re going to be tired anyway.

Squeezing in a quick trail run will give you a boost of endorphins and a feeling of accomplishment, no matter what may have gone wrong that day.
